Theia Beats Out All Other Dry Medias

Theia was approached by an engineering consultant working on behalf of an energy client.    They were asked by this customer to evaluate all the available H2S treatment systems available in the industry.  After an exhaustive review, the conclusion, according to the consultant was obvious.  So, obvious that the consultant’s main concern was “ why the heck isn’t everyone using your system?”.   Yes, the burden of being a small company with great ideas !!!!

The system was built and installed in March of 2015.  Theia’s CY1R series are a simple cylindrical vessel fabricated from heavy carbon steel and coated with a thick coating of epoxy inside and out.   The vessels feature raised internal beds, top manways and vent connections and bottom drains.   The systems include a full lead/lag dual isolation manifold.  This manifold, fabricated from heavy duty polyethylene and featuring Polyethylene valves, redundant for isolation, provides a single inlet and outlet to the gas but allows the customer to isolate either vessel for service as well as to change the lead/lag orientation of the vessels to optimize media usage.

The system is designed to treat as much as 3000 cfm of landfill gas and has been treating roughly 1800 cfm since installed.

The system and media easily surpassed the performance guaranteed and lasted roughly 30-40% longer than the customer had predicted.   The customer later admitted that they did not really believe the media would last as long as we predicted (it actually lasted longer) based on their previous experience with competitive products in the industry.

The media was changed out in one vessel towards the end of January of 2016 without much effort (again to the pleasant surprise of the customer), lasting roughly 10 months in service.  Theia has promised 8 months based on the gas and the customer had budgeted based  on 6 months.
